Upcoming Worship

This Sunday

On October 14th, Rev. Adriene Thorne will deliver the sermon "Us Over Me" based on Joshua 24:1—26 and Matthew 4:8-10.

Children’s Education

Sunday School follows the academic calendar through mid-June. Childcare will be provided for very young children throughout the summer.

Adult Education

The Men’s Fellowship meets for breakfast every Wednesday morning at 7:30AM at the Park Plaza Diner. All men are welcome to join the discussion.

Serving Others

The Food Pantry continues to provide groceries to families who are in need. This week, 10 volunteers helped 117 guests.

Worship services are streamed live over the Internet. If you find yourself out of town or at home under the weather, you need not miss a minute of the excitement around First Presbyterian Church! Tune in to worship through our website and listen to the music, the sermon, and all the rest of the sounds of worship (sorry, no video). We will provide the worship bulletin in PDF format so that you can follow along. No matter where you are in the world, we will be there, too! But be sure to tune in around 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time, because this is Live! From New York!

Social

Check out the weekly e-newsletter and Church calendar for the latest schedule of activities.

Governance

Session meets monthly, normally on the 3rd Monday, except for July and August.

Thanks!

In previous years, on the Sunday before Thanksgiving we have written thank-you notes to honor the many people and things for which we are grateful. Reading them is thought-provoking and uplifting!

Read the thanks that people wrote in 2013.

Sunday 10:00 AM
Join Rev. Jose Padin-Martinez, and his wife, Dania Perez-Cubas Cardenas at the 10:00 Bible Study and/or at a gathering immediately after Church.

Rev. Padin is the pastor of La Fernanda Presbyterian Church\, in Havana. La Fernanda has had a sister-church relationship with First Church Brooklyn for many years, and we sponsor a meals program for seniors in the neighborhood where the church is located. We'll see a short video of the meals program and hear from some of the participants. We'll also have a chance to hear more about La Fernanda, the church, their youth choir, and more. Bring your questions, and prepare to hear Rev. Padin and Senora Dania think about the church in Cuba, Cuba's new President and proposed constitution, the proposed law for single-sex marriage, and more....
